Questions about Power BI for Beginners
How long does it take to learn Power BI?
Most people can build a basic report after a few weeks of regular practice. Breni lessons take about three minutes each, so the 7 courses fit into short daily sessions.
Do I need to know Excel before learning Power BI?
It helps but is not required. The path explains tables and data types as it goes, and Excel for Beginners on Breni covers the spreadsheet side in more depth.
Is Power BI hard to learn?
The basics are approachable because most of the work is point and click. DAX takes longer, so the path gives it a whole course of its own.
Power BI or Tableau: which should a beginner learn?
Both build dashboards, and the skills transfer between them. This path teaches Power BI because it connects closely with Excel and Microsoft 365, which many workplaces already use.
Is the Power BI certificate from Microsoft?
No. Completing the path earns a Breni certificate of completion, which is separate from any Microsoft exam.
